The difference between emulsified oil and microemulsion cutting fluid

Many people think that emulsified oil and microemulsion cutting fluid is the same thing, but the name is different, in fact, it is not so. Let's follow the small editor of the emulsion oil manufacturer to understand the difference between the two in detail.

Emulsion: It is composed of emulsion oil and water configuration, by mineral oil (content of 50% ~ 80%), emulsifier, rust prevention agent, oil agent, extreme pressure agent and preservative. The diluent is opaque and milky white. Due to the high content of mineral oil, the lubricity of the emulsion is better than that of both synthetic and semi-synthetic cutting fluids. Due to the poor working stability of emulsified oil, short service cycle, opaque solution, it is difficult to observe the cutting condition when working, so its use is decreasing year by year.

Microemulsion cutting fluid: it is diluent oil drop diameter less than 1m oil-water mixture, diluent transparent or translucent. Its concentrate consists of a small amount of mineral oil (5% to 30%), oiliness agent, extreme pressure agent, rust inhibitor, surfactant and preservative. It has the advantages of good lubrication properties of emulsion and easy cleaning and observation of synthetic cutting fluid, and makes up for the shortcomings of both. It is the development trend of cutting fluid at present.
